Striped Bathroom {complete!}

Pin It My heart said stripes so I listened:0) I love stripes….
Big ones
Small ones
Short ones
Tall ones..Stripes on my bed,stripes on my head, stripes on trees and stripes on bees…
ok that was my little Dr. Seuss moment( come one don’t act like you didn’t like it!!!)
BUT  something about them(stripes) makes me…..so happy!
I let my hand do the painting and my  heart do the decorating…
and now it’ s done….and me and my stripes are HAPPY!
BOLD and BEAUTIFUL!

I must confess I haven’t touched up but whatever…:0)
I got most of the accessories from garage sale, Target and Goodwill. The three tier basket was from Homegoods I got that early last year sometime and looks just like the one Pottery Barn has right now!!
The zebra rug that I LOVE was 3.99 at my local Ross and is the perfect addition to the space!!!
I changed out the mirror that you saw in this post. I picked it up from Homegoods for 29.99 It is a metallic gold with great molding.
I also changed out the lighting also different from this post. I picked up some light replacement glass from Lowes and changed them out! Instant update for about 24 bucks:0)))
Still searching for the perfect hand towels….I’m thinking different textures of white! And other little things I will get as I find them:0)
So it’s been about a year and a half since Reggie and I decided to call this house THE place for us.  I’m on NO type of  timeline which is grean and I have really enjoyed sharing with all my blog visitors the everydays of what I love!!! Hopefully you have been inspired to make a place for yourself and your family also:0)

Striped Bathroom --->shelves added:0)

Pin It If you follow me on Facebook and Twitter, you know that I decided to put some BOLD stripes up in my powered room a few weeks ago. So we added shelves to the striped bathroom! I wanted some right behind the toilet going straight up. I picked up some 18 in floating shelves at Lowes from the Allen. I was going to go with the Ikea ones that are very similar BUT they were to THICK and I didn’t like the way it looked. But these, I LIKE:0) I like a little touch of modern in my rooms and I think these shelves do just that.
So after we hung them up I pulled out some accessories from my junk/craft/office room and made a nice little collection.




After taking things off, putting some back on, and editing back and fourth I finally came up with a great beginning…..

BUT!I still have some touch ups to do…..eeek! ( I always start decorating before I finish the not so fun jobs…lol)

I’m going out to find a new mirror today…….I’m wanting something CHUNCKY and white or maybe a pretty blue to replace the builder oval one.

I also want to change out the frosted light covers:0)

And MAYBE if I can change the faucet.
I have a few projects I’m juggling right now..the front room,this bathroom and now I am starting to cover my gross dining chairs with some slipcovers:0) FUN!

Keeping busy with powderoom stripes…

Pin It So while I’m waiting for everything to come in for the front room… 8-10 weeks worth waiting for sofas and shutters( FINALLY some window coverings!) and THAT table…. I decided to go bold in the downstairs half bath and put up some stripes….7inch chocolate and vanilla stripes to be exact:0) I LOVE THEM! They are totally costal AND DA totally chic….COSTAL CHIC… or warm sweater chic:0).It  seems like  the dark accents are being dissed these days, but my heart just wont let them go! Definitely converting to a lighter color scheme overall but these bold accents keep the drama going and I’m all about drama.
Wait….Not that “oh no you didn’t kinda drama”, just décor drama:0)

Thanks to the NESTER..we know it DON’T have to be perfect to be beautiful…I told my stripes what was up. Otherwise they get a little insecure.
We also want to wrap this color around the corner and down the hallway! Sweet!
This should be fun to dress up…

Paint jobs take me so long now a days…like SEVEN plus days and I am STILL not done long….But  while I was painting, I had a little talk with Jesus…told him about my troubles:0) and my joys. I love our talks when I am creating…don’t you?
