Spring Mantel

Just wanted to share with you my Spring mantel! It doesn't look to different from my mantel I shared with you ago last month when I did my pallet art!

But I did add some cute chalkboard birds that I picked up from World Market!

Aren’t they cute. 5 little birds just like my little family:0) My friend Carina and I figured that one out last night! hehehe. The two boys are at the top then little miss thang in the middle and then us two love birds kissing away!

My Style Monday (Pillows)

I crave change. So it’s no surprise that I LOVE pillows. Down filled, karate chopped, fluffy pillows!! If you’re a seasonal decorator like me, then you know pillows are the easiest way to add a different feel and look to any room. It seems like every time I make a trip to Homegoods, one or two of them end up in my cart:0) Ralph Lauren pillows are my all time favorite. Not sure why, but they come with a nice down fill and the color and texture choices are right up my alley. Here are some of the pillows around mi casa…..

Chair Shopping and Pinterest Pinning

So the living room has been at a stand still for sometime now. I just finished my X wall and now I’m working on a gallery wall using Destiny’s Method of Randomness:0)

IMG_8422_9674_edited-1_thumb1IMG_8481_9763_edited-1

Almost done!

I always advise my family and friends to focus on one room at a time. But that’s a lot easier said then done:0) I’ve been back and fourth between the family room and living room. Dreaming about the laundry room and peaking into the office:0)

But I did have some free time to research some chairs for the living room area. When I say research I mean pinning:0) It’s so nice to have a place to store all of your ideas and plans for your home in one spot! Plus it’s so pretty! You think you’ve seen the prettiest thing ever and then BOOM you spot something else even prettier. Won’t you join me?

I’ve decided these are the chairs I want. Two of them would be nice, right? But so would a mix:0)  Remember them from my original inspiration board?

Now as far as getting them?? Not sure. They’re expensive. Like super expensive. Like more than my sofa expensive. But they’re PERFECT. Let me tell you why.

Well first off, they’re low. Meaning if I park them in front of my window you will still be able to see a pretty view of the patio and passing neighbors. I’m nosey:0)

Two. They have tuffs. Which will add some interest and depth to the room.  It’s also something pleasing to look at and traditional in style, which I like!

Three. I just like them.

But like always you have to have a few back up plans so here are my other picks.

Chas Armchair

This lovely chair is from Pier One. Has the same feel as the first one and similar curves to my sofa. I’m loving YOU,you pretty little chair:0)

This one is even more expensive then the first. It’s also completely different from the first two. I know, it makes no since. I just know what I like:0) That big ole cushion looks so comfy!

This one’s from Target. Not sure about the scale and the color is off, but the price is right:0)

So close your eyes and imagine with me. Can you see it? I can……..

I will let you know what we decide! Reggie and I don’t like to do the payment plan thing when it comes to furniture or anything really. Well HE doesn’t. I wouldn’t mind…lol. But then we would be in tons of trouble. Can you imagine if I had lines of credit  to all my favorite stores!!! Not cool. So if I want them then I’ll have to save up for them:0) Which might take a while, but like I always say, I don’t mind waiting for quality and getting what I really want. Besides that, I might get lucky on craigslist, so I’ll be on the look out!

The Great X Wall Project

So it’s finally done! THE wall project I’ve been working on for a few weeks. If you follow me on Facebook then you’ve seen me post some of the updated pictures. I shared a funny story on my personal page about when my oldest son asked me if I was building a fence so the cows wouldn’t get out…lol!

Ha!! I can see that, but not exactly, my dear:0)

It’s just that I ‘m obsessed with the x.

Completely Sidetracked.

This photo is just an example of  how I can get completely sidetracked.

Why on earth am I even thinking about my guest room? No one will even occupy this room until November:0)

But the linen sure is pretty thanks to a little Homegood’s/TjMaxx/Marshall’s LOVE:0) The colors are so summery. I wonder how it will feel come Christmas time? Just something to think about.

Reggie and I also plan on making some FUN changes to the family room!! Remember these CUTOUTS we were working on? I had a different vision. They’re getting a BIG makeover soon.

Homemade Living Room Pillows

I was so excited to receive my fabric last week from Fabric.com!

I got started right away with this fabric…..

Premier Prints Twill Chipper White/Storm Grey

I used the fabric to make pillow covers for my down inserts for my living room sofa.

Remember these blue beauties I bought from Plush Studios:0)

IMG_6324_7810_edited-1

I took those and added my homemade pillows to the mix!

Complete with hidden zippers!

IMG_8001_9320

They were so fun to make and easy too!

I also used the black and white hounds tooth for some dining chair pillows!  The scale of the the fabric was not what I expected BUT I still like it! Still on the hunt for the LARGE scale hounds toothWinking smile

IMG_8019_9330

I can’t wait to see what drapes do to this space! I still don’t know if I should go solid or patterned. What do you think?

The gray taupe color, blended to much with the living room sofa, but will be a GREAT contrast against these chairs in the family room with some zebra too!

Do you make your own pillows? What’s your favorite fabric right now?
