New Chair to Share

I’m so excited to have this new beauty in my living room. I got it a few weeks ago but totally forgot to share the chair:0)

IMG_8986_0278IMG_8989_0281

If you remember a while back I was chair shopping and I had my eye on this lovely upholstered chair with the tuffs.

Julia Upholstered Chair

Coming in a close second where these cane back chairs from Wisteria. Not only was the cushion a big plus but the texture would be just the thing my living room would need.

So when I walked into Cost Plus World Market and saw this chair, I thought it just might work! It wasn’t my first choice but the texture is amazing with the basket weave back and sides and it has the same silhouette of the Wisteria chair.IMG_8988_0280

I love the basket weave detailing and I plan on giving the seats a lift with some down filled cushions.

Now the real question is do I go and get another one or mix and match??

The room in ALMOST done!!! I can’t believe it!

See you tomorrow for My Style Monday!

Today’s Designer Look-A-Like’s  inspiration comes from this popular metal accent table, know as the director table.

This beautiful one from CSN is on sale for 622.00 and boast an iron and brass frame with a granite black top..fancy fancy:0)

Ballard Designs has a similar one named the Olivia mirrored side table  for 149.00.

I found this less expensive one with a glass top at Urbanoutfitters for 64.00 .

This small accent table  looks great in any room!  Perfect for a few books, a cup of coffee, in a nursery, and would go perfect next to it’s own chair! I love the fact that is metal, which makes it a bit heavy and the X features on it, makes it playful and fun.

So I was completely shocked when I walked into my local KOHLS last week and found those same tables for 30.00! Made by ELLE Decor, I knew it would be of great quality! After reading the original retail price of 149.oo,  I snatched one up. The assembly took all of 5 minutes and it was ready to go.

I loved it so much I went back today a got another one for 20.00 because I had ten bucks worth of Kohl’s Cash. Two high style tables for 50.oo and a savings of 250.oo ? I’m a happy girl!

Do you have any small accent tables like this in your home? What’s your favorite spot to place them?

Homemade Living Room Pillows

I was so excited to receive my fabric last week from Fabric.com!

I got started right away with this fabric…..

Premier Prints Twill Chipper White/Storm Grey

I used the fabric to make pillow covers for my down inserts for my living room sofa.

Remember these blue beauties I bought from Plush Studios:0)

I took those and added my homemade pillows to the mix!

Complete with hidden zippers!

They were so fun to make and easy too!

I also used the black and white hounds tooth for some dining chair pillows!  The scale of the the fabric was not what I expected BUT I still like it! Still on the hunt for the LARGE scale hounds toothWinking smile

I can’t wait to see what drapes do to this space! I still don’t know if I should go solid or patterned. What do you think?

The gray taupe color, blended to much with the living room sofa, but will be a GREAT contrast against these chairs in the family room with some zebra too!

Do you make your own pillows? What’s your favorite fabric right now?

{New Sofa and New Pillows} Living Room Update

If you follow me on Facebook then you know a while back I received my new sofa that I talked about a few months back!  Reggie and I ended up choosing the very last one that we got from a local business in Chandler,AZ that I found via Craigslist, Model Home Marketplace. Robert Michael Savannah Sofa:0)

Remember I wanted english arms, turned legs and a lighter colored sofa! Well this sofa met all  of those requirements and came in at about 950 dollars. Much MUCH less than anything else we were looking at! We choose the down fill option for the upgrade and a durable fabric for easy clean ups and any spills that MAY occur:0)

Here it is with 3 24x24 pillows and a kidney pillow all in a yellow and gray color scheme! We are so happy with it!

IMG_6333_7817_edited-1

I picked up some Ralph Lauren down filled pillows for 8.00 each from Homegoods and added them to the pillows that where there. The colors of these pillow would be perfect for my family room but I just wanted to see what a 20x20 pillow would look like with the others:0)

IMG_6299_7767_edited-1

I’ve been looking for some pretty pillows to go on the sofa in the color scheme that I was going for which is blue and yellow with taupes and grays.  Originally I was going to go with a navy but decided to go with more of an indigo color.  I came across the etsy pillow company Plush Studios when I was browsing through Kristin’s blog 6thstreetdesignschool. I went to her shop and  fell in love with these P.Kaufmann floral pillows! I received them last week  sweetly packaged and I immediately stuffed them with down filled pillow inserts! She even makes matching napkins:0)

They look great and are very well made! I think a lot of times I’m afraid to order things on Etsy because with some items you don’t want that “homemade” look. I gotta tell you these pillows are professionally sewn and professionally made with care! I was VERY happy with my purchase! Erin, your doing a great job!

IMG_6324_7810_edited-1

My next purchase will be some larger or smaller pillow in a charcoal gray to compliment the wallpaper. I like these chevron/ zigzag ones she has in her shop!! Aren't they cute!

Light Gray Cheveron 16x16inch decorative pillow cover

These ones from Cooper-Grey are calling my name also:0)

Or I may just order my own fabric and whip some up myself!

This Robert Allen will bring in the texture I need.

But this BOLD STRIPE…ohh I love it!

Classic Linen Stripe . Stitched Linen Stripe . 18 x 18 inches . White . Charcoal . Linen . Stripe

Right now I’m looking for some new rugs! I want to go with something with a natural texture. Maybe a woven rug with a subtle pattern or maybe a jute rug in a light color.

Totally loving  the lighter look that’s coming to our place…..

The process is wonderful and we are excited about all the changes that we are making slowly put surely!

Designer Look A Like-Chinoiserie Pillow

Pin It About a month ago I picked up this really pretty table cloth from Target for 5.00. It was made by DwellStudios for Target and I knew I wouldn’t be using it for a table, but I thought it would make some super cute  pillows!
The fabric resembles this DwellStudio Chinoiserie Pillow retailing for 90.00.CHINOISERIE CASES
So I made a few cuts and added a 10.00 feather-down insert and made myself a pillow! TWO pillows:0) I added them to these chocolate armless chairs that I picked up from WorldMarket a few weeks ago. What a pretty space to look at;0)

Mirrored Nightstand( Thrifty Find)

I think I fell in love with the mirrored nightstand back in 05’ when I first got married…I knew that one day I would have a couple of them in my home:0) I got pretty close when I bought some furniture for my master bedroom in my old home. Not quite a nightstand but I sure made it act like one….
Then I moved it into Alivyas nursery…It gave the room and elegant look.
This little guy only cost me 20 bucks at Target the year I got it and it’s still an amazing piece of accent furniture. I could put it in just about any room in my home and it would go with everything and add that little bit of SPARKLE the room needs.
I loved it so much that I started looking online for some nice “FOR REAL”  mirrored nightstands….but little did I know they were….sorta out of reach.
This beautiful one is from Potterybarn…..
For 399 I think it’s a great choice. The scale is great for a guest bedroom…but I think I might need something a little taller in my master bedroom.
This one is from Pier OneHome - Pier 1 Imports - Furniture - mirrored nightstand
better price but I need the storage of the drawers.

This mirrored nightstand can  be found at Anthropologie I love the aged look of it. To bad I can’t get it anymore…this one looks like a winner…but I’m sure it was A LOT OF MONEY:0)
JcPenny’s….another favorite store of mind has this one for 299.00
NICE!
So that’s gonna be 600 dollars for nightstands??? hmmm how do I explain this to the MR?? lol

About a month ago I went to my new favorite thrifty store…sorta reminds me of TjMaxx/HomeGoods…Tuesday Morning. Not to big but has a very big selection of name brand stuff I LIKE:0)
I walked in and spotted two mirrored nightstands….I knew they would be pretty pricey because of the size and the research I had already done. BUT to my surprise they were only 150 EACH!!!! I was in love:0)))) I checked them out…lifted them, opened them up..ran my fingers across the top…lol. They were the perfect size and in perfect condition. SO….. I didn’t get them.
LOL! I know! I know! I just needed sometime to think about it:0)
Fast-forward to today… I went back in and said to myself…If they’re still there I will  THINK about getting them. In the back of my mind I just new they would be gone because it was such a great deal. But I made my way to the back of the store and there they were  waiting for me:0) After a 15 minute negotiation phone call with the boss and because I had made some extra money doing a design consultation for a friend of mine….I took them home…to my empty master bedroom:0)
IMG_4404_5558IMG_4411_5559
I also have a few lamps that need a makeover that I stole from my mom’s house…that is like the best place to shop;0) They will look great in here. Not completely set on a color scheme yet….but that will come to me soon. Trying to make the room Super ROOOOOOMANTIC for the two of us:0))))) I have an entire vision in my head…..and it’s getting there slowly:0)
So there you have it…my thrifty find of the week!
What was yours?
